Christmas Party

I hate to blog someone else's story - but sometimes needs must.

Martin took Orla and Ruaridh to the IBM Christmas Party on Saturday in Edinburgh. They had the best time ever. There was a magician, food, a balloon guy and Santa. What more do kids need? Orla went up to help the magician - I wish I'd been there to see that - she's only 2. Our kids have *never* been asked up to do anything before. I think I would have cried.

Orla was in the smaller child's room and opened up her lunch box, placing everything carefully in front of her before eating anything. I just love her hat - do you?

Ruaridh clearly was having a great time over lunch too. So nice to have kids who will eat anything at a party - not the case with Morgan at all. While all this was going on I had taken Morgan to the Seabird Centre in North Berwick.. We had lunch there and I had taken his usual with us - Hovis white bread and flora - and asked for a plate for him! I had a lovely prawn baguette. Oh well.

After lunch the kids all went upstairs to where the room had been set up to wait for Santa. Orla went straight over to his chair and sat down and took some persuasion to get out of the chair. Look at her face - so sad. I just love the party dress and wellies look!!

Santa came up trumps for both Orla and Ruaridh. They went up in age order - with the youngest first. Orla was the first child to go up and not cry - hurrah. Ruaridh was the first child to go up on his own - hurrah.

They look like they had a great time. I know afterwards Orla had a huge sleep - she was so shattered. Martin took them to Borders on the way home where there was a Harry Potter party - oh the new book is out isn't it? Must get around to buying that at some point.
