Happy Christmas Everyone

We had a lovely day full of presents and festive cheer.

Morgan was first up at 3am - yes you read that right - 3am!! He refused to go back to bed. Martin and I had only got to bed at 1. He went downstairs and watched TV - but I knew he was awake so only dozed on and off - and Orla was restless as she had been ill the day before with a fever. Morgan opened up his stocking presents but thankfully left the ones under the tree.

Eventually at about 8 we let him come in to our room and woke Orla up and Ruaridh came in too. We all opened our stocking presents - of course Morgan had none to open - and said he'd lost half of them (huh?) By this time Morgan was fit to explode. "I am craving opening my presents." So - we went down and started breakfast and let them open one present. Then we started on the pile. Ruaridh was great this year - helping to give out the presents as this is the first time he has been able to read.

Present highlights

The boys got a wii with various games - which they are loving. I have to admit to not liking it at all. When it's on there is so much noise over whose turn it is and the others shouting out instructions... Not a fan. I can't sit in the same room as it when it is on and it is in the lounge so it's a bit of a bummer.

The boys also got transformers, star wars storm troopers, pyjamas (in fact we all got pyjamas) , some art sets, dressing up clothes and lots of other stuff.

Orla's main present was a toy rocket complete with Space Buggy, Aliens and Astronauts. She loves it (as does Ruaridh). She also got a ton of girlie stuff including a Dora, a pony, a pretend birthday cake with blow out candles, a big box of play food, a new Ikea doll bed (painted pink - hee) and a ton of hair stuff. What a girl!

I did really well and was a bit over-whelmed. Martin went completely overboard and I am thrilled. He got me a gorgeous Per Una long cardigan and a load of stuff from Fat Face. I got a fantastic knitting kit that I have wanted for ages - no doubt I will blog about that on my knitting blog at some point. I bought myself a mitten knitting kit from Posh too. I got a load of books and some chocolate and smellies - I feel very pampered.

Martin of course was the worst off. He did get some books - mainly political - a DVD set, cufflinks, chocolate and shares in the wii.

Christmas lunch went surprisingly well with Ruaridh munching on the turkey and orla munching on the carrots and sausages. Morgan had sandwiches! Crackers were pulled, hats worn, fun was had. Result!

It all started to go pear shaped in the evening when they started to get tired.

All in all a great day though - hope you had a lovely time too.

  1. You're only not a Wii fan when you're not playing ;-)
