Birthdays

I like March. It's my birthday month - and also my daughter's birthday. I like my birthday. I like to know it is *my* special day. I like to be spoiled and treated for the day.

And I was.

I woke up to a bed full of children and presents. Lots of fun things - money to spend from the parents/parents-in-law, chocolates from Martin and the kids, my first *ever* signed card from all three children - a very special thing.

My main present hadn't arrived. I bought a new spinning wheel at Christmas but I never quite got on with it so I decided to spend a little more and get the wheel I really wanted. So I have bought a new (to me) Asford Kiwi and it is lovely. She is bright red and called Marcy - not named by me - and I may change her name - we'll see.

Anyway - back to my birthday. Martin had taken the day off as he has some holiday to use up and he was off to India the next day. I had planned a trip to the New Lanark Mill with a couple of lovely friends. We had an absolute ball. Great mill, great company, great lunch and great shopping at the mill/wool shop. I bought some wool for a sweater for me and Orla and got a little more for Martin's just in case I ran out. We had lunch at the hotel rather than in the cafe. Was perfect. Steak sandwich, wine, knitting, birthday cake and tea. Thanks Sally and Natalie it was a lovely day.

I came home to another Steak dinner and good wine with Martin.

All in all a lovely birthday.

The next day Martin was heading off to India for ten days - more of that another time - and more on Orla's birthday some other time.

Do you like the new look of the blog? Was playing with some of the new templates available.

I am in need of a cup of tea and I promised Martin roast chicken for tea - better get it in the oven!!
